Ancienne élève de l’École Normale Supérieure de Fontenay St-Cloud (sciences humaines, 1993) et agrégée d’histoire, j’ai soutenu ma thèse de doctorat en histoire, en 2000, sur «L’Armée et la torture pendant la guerre d’Algérie. Les soldats, leurs chefs et les violences illégales».
Mon habilitation à diriger des recherches en histoire contemporaine, soutenue en 2010, s’intitulait «Hommes et guerres en situation coloniale».

Après trois années comme allocataire-monitrice à l’université de Lille-3, les universités de Champagne-Ardennes puis de Marne-la-Vallée m’ont accueillie comme ATER.
En 2002, j’ai été élue maîtresse de conférences en histoire contemporaine à l’Université de Rennes 2.
De 2005 à 2014, c’est à l’Université de Paris-1-Panthéon-Sorbonne et au sein du Centre d’Histoire Sociale du XXè siècle (UMR 8058) que j’ai exercé le métier d’enseignante-chercheuse, puis, à partir de septembre 2014, à l’Université de Rouen-Normandie et au sein du Groupe de Recherche d’Histoire (EA3831). En septembre 2019, j’ai rejoint l’Université de Paris Nanterre et le laboratoire de l’Institut des Sciences sociales du politique (UMR7220).

I graduated from École Normale Supérieure of Fontenay St-Cloud with a degree in human sciences in 1993, and hold the Aggregation in history. I defended my doctoral thesis in history in 2000, on the theme of “The French Army and Torture during the Algerian War: Soldiers, their Commanders, and Illegal Violence”.
In 2010, I defended my Habilitation thesis to supervise research in contemporary history. My topic was “Men and Wars in a Colonial Situation”.

I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Lille 3 for three years, after which I held post-doc positions at the University of Champagne-Ardennes and the University of Marne-la-Vallée.
In 2002, I was elected Associate Professor of contemporary history at the University of Rennes 2.
From 2005 to 2014, I have been an Associate Professor at the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as a researcher at the Centre for 20th Century Social History (CNRS research unit 8058). From September 2014 to Septembre 2019, I have been a Full Professor at the University of Rouen-Normandy and at the Research Group in History (EA3831). As of September 2019, I am teaching at the University of Paris Nanterre and a member of the research unit 7220, Institut des Sciences sociales du politique.
